Harry Potter is back!

Nearly seven years after J.K. Rowling published the final book in her seven-part series, the author has given fans an update on the beloved boy wizard in a new story published to her website, Pottermore.

The post centers around the reunion of Harry Potter and his friends at the Quidditch World Cup Finals.

In the story, written as a gossip column dispatch from Rita Skeeter in The Daily Prophet, the titular hero is now in his early thirties with a mysterious cut on his cheek, as well as “a couple of threads of silver” in his hair. He is married to Ron Weasley’s sister, Ginny, who is now a journalist. Ron is, of course, married to Hermione Granger, and Rita observes that his “famous ginger hair appears to be thinning slightly.”

Rita also notes that that Harry and friends are “no longer the fresh-faced teenagers they were in their heyday.” She also points out that Harry, who is now an auror, still wears “the distinctive round glasses that some might say are better suited to a style-deficient 12-year-old.” Ron runs the family joke shop, while Hermione is keeping busy as the Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

There are updates on other characters, including Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood, plus a glimpse of a new generation of wizards—though Rowling’s rep says she will not write more Harry Potter stories.

UN Women, the United Nations organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women, today announced the appointment of British Actress, Emma Watson, as Goodwill Ambassador.
Best known for her role as Hermione Granger in the ‘Harry Potter’ film series, the accomplished actress, humanitarian, and recent graduate of Ivy League institution Brown University, will dedicate her efforts as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador towards the empowerment of young women and will serve as an advocate for UN Women’s HeForShe campaign in promoting gender equality.
“We are thrilled and honoured to work with Emma, whom we believe embodies the values of UN Women,” stated Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director, UN Women. “The engagement of young people is critical for the advancement of gender equality in the 21st century, and I am convinced that Emma’s intellect and passion will enable UN Women’s messages to reach the hearts and minds of young people globally,” added Ms. Mlambo-Ngcuka.
Ms. Watson has been involved in the promotion of girls’ education for several years, and previously visited Bangladesh and Zambia as part of her humanitarian efforts.
“Being asked to serve as UN Women’s Goodwill Ambassador is truly humbling. The chance to make a real difference is not an opportunity that everyone is given and is one I have no intention of taking lightly. Women’s rights are something so inextricably linked with who I am, so deeply personal and rooted in my life that I can’t imagine an opportunity more exciting. I still have so much to learn, but as I progress I hope to bring more of my individual knowledge, experience and awareness to this role,” said Ms. Watson.
Ms. Watson is the first Goodwill Ambassador appointment under Ms. Mlambo-Ngcuka’s leadership.

Just a few months ago we learned that Emma Watson and Ethan Hawke would star in a new thriller called Regression, marking a return to genre filmmaking by Alejandro Amenábar. Now the film has just wrapped principal photography, and TWC-Dimension has just released the first photo from the film. It’s not an exciting still, but Watson certainly seems to be in distress as Hawke attempts to comfort her. This certainly seems to be a character driven drama as the story follows a detective (Hawke) investigating the accusation that a young woman (Watson) has made against her father for a horrifying crime. Look below!

Regression is written and directed by Alejandro Amenábar. In 1990 Minnesota, detective Bruce Kenner (Ethan Hawke) investigates the case of young Angela (Emma Watson), who accuses her father, John Gray (David Dencik), of an unspeakable crime. When John unexpectedly and without recollection admits guilt, psychologist Dr. Raines (David Thewlis) is brought in to help him relive his memories and they unmask a horrifying nationwide mystery. Dale Dickey (Winter´s Bone), Lothaire Bluteau (“The Tudors”) and Devon Bostick (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) also star in the film that TWC-Dimension releases on August 28th, 2015.

It’s graduation day for movie star Emma Watson.

The British actress best known as Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” movies was among 2,000 graduates receiving degrees Sunday from Brown University. She tweeted a photo of herself in cap and gown.

Watson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the Ivy League university in Rhode Island.

The 24-year-old started at Brown in 2009, the same year she was named the highest-grossing actress of the decade by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Watson had a busy film career during her time as a student, releasing both parts of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” ‘’The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” ‘’This is the End,” and the recent Biblical epic “Noah.”
